Should the next Superman movie be darker  

I don't know if I can call myself a huge fan but superman has been one of my favorite comic chracter. I wouldn't mind seeing superman's darker side. If I remember correctly, in one of the superman movies, there was one with him having a split personality. He ends up fighting "himself" in a junk yard. Of course good side of him wins. May be something close to that where one of his dark personality comes out. I know DC comic have been playing with the idea of different colored krytonite, and each colors affecting superman in a different manner.

wow they all seem to be going darker. So did spiderman 3 with the black suit thing. Personally i like it and i think it would make the new superman much better than the last one. In my opinion the last one was slightly boring dare i say :)

I dunno Batman Is Kinda a Dark Hero where as Superman is Not.

It would change the "superman"essance of Him

Although It would Prolly be a good Flick

I do not think they should make superman dark . He was never a dark superhero in the comics . If they change it now they would ruin it for the diehard comic book fans

Superman doesn't work as dark. Superman is the opposite of Batman, he's supposed to be the big shining example of the best things humanity represents. He's the big icon and needs to shine and sparkle and have high moral ground, not be dragged through something dark and gritty, it just doesn't work for the character. The two Batman movies have worked because dark and gritty fits Batman, they capture the essence of the character perfectly. Just like the Spider-Man movies work best when he's wise cracking, moving fast through the air and he has all these balls to juggle. The first two films for him perfectly matched the best parts of the character. Making Superman dark and gritty is forcing movie aspects onto a character that don't work, I'm quite against the idea. Warners needs to go look at the recent All Star Superman, and do something like that for the next movie.
