Well, i'm using im2 broom now and with flat tariff 100.000 IDR/month. But i think the connection become slower(even 5kb/s) every day though my indosat phone signal was always high. What is yours? Can you suggest me what should i use? Thanks a lot.

this decision depends upon your usage of internet. you can check your monthly usage and if it is on the higher side you can stay with the unlimited plan. as regards the speed, it depends on the infrastructure of your service provider and is mostly not related to what plan you chose. so no matter what plan you decide upon the speed will more likely be the same unless your service provider upgrades its servers. here (in India) i am using BSNL unlimited plan and fortunately the speed is relatively good (256+ kbps) and the charges are Rs. 750/month (roughly US$ 17).

Thanks guys, but i guess in my country the internet service isn't similar with yours. It too difficult to find the best internet provider, all of them have a pros that lower than the cons

Yeah...it's hard to find a good operator in indonesia, Or perhaps there are none. Some offer lower charge, but the conection piss me up. Some offer a good speed conection, but the charge is killing me. I used to have XL as my operator. The conection is good and hardly found trouble, but it charge me Rp.3/kb, now I'm using Im3, I only charged Rp.1/kb. But the conection always have a trouble. I also use other operator, but it's all the same. I turn up my image load option to cut the charge. It's can save almost 80% my money that I spend in internet. If you ask me, all operator in indonesia are the same, to much lie...

we had the same problem here also. but with time as competition increased, the prices came down and the services became better. so i guess you have no option but to wait for better services which i hope will happen soon as big companies are looking towards Asian countries to expand their business. then you will definitely get good service at reasonable prices.....good luck.

Unlimited? Well, there's almost no unlimited internet access in Indonesia. I think I know why your connection have been slowing down. It's what happens when you're run out of your volume quota. And they call it unlimited? Lol. Well, I think the real unlimited is star one. You have to pay 45k IDR/week (pre paid). There's no volume quota, so the speed won't be lowered.

Actually there is, but the ISP merely is not from Indonesia. If you are have digital dish, then you can buy something called BVA card and subscribe from an ISP that provide internet access via satellite. It worth about 700k IDR/mo. Quite similar price for Speedy unlimited with no quota caps. Once again, all of the service depends on the area. Like on my area, Indosat signal is quite terrible so I don't recommend using Indosat here.

Well, my brother use 3.1 mbps with Smart Hybrid and I use 153kbps with Smart Phone. Compared with other Internet Service Provider it run without bandwidth limit, for 3.1 mbps platinum you need to pay 275000 IDR/month or 2.750.000/year. You can download or upload your files with 100kbps.

you could pay it for 45.000 IDR/month and I hear from my brother for IM2 it's have quota and if you already use it over the quota it'll be counted 1 IDR/kb for next packet transaction.

Where are your location mate? It's all also depend on location. If you are living on Jakarta or Surabaya, consider using CDMA based connection now as they are developing an EVDO connection (similar to HSDPA's of GSM) and since they are still promoting then the price is not too high either. If you still want to use broadband GSM based, I will consider using Telkomsel Flash instead as it is much stable than any other connection. But the after service actually sucks. If you are not using broadband, why don't you use Speedy? It is cheap and unlimited now and from what I experienced, it is stable enough for personal user.

Well i already use im2, and to tell you the truth, i don't really like the services. I used unlimited Indosat M2 Broom Extra. The speed is slow, and it is very hard to get connected. Some time it take me about half an hour to simply connected to the internet, and even after that long, the connection still feel really slow. But well, that is my experience only, i don't know if other have the same problem with me or not. Thanks.
