[b]Below are 2 URLS you can copy & paste to see evidence for yourself that--among other myths--polar bears are not drowning, that the world is cooling, not warming, & that it would be better for all if it were warming!
The first deals with the temperature, & the second deals with the cover-up the hoaxers have been perpetuating. They who insist there are no scientists who call the GW/CC movement are L Y I N G.
Go see!

I've been arguing with people (hardcore libs) in a few places about this for a few days.
The "proof" they provided me to say it wasn't a big deal was put out by the same proponents of climate change that have been claiming the science is "settled" for years.
It's hard to get a nonplussed reaction out of me, but these were the same guys screaming in my face that Sarah Palin isn't allowed to tell the Sarah Palin side of the story and be considered legitimate.
Umm... so...
And this is the number-one reason I don't do much on the "save the planet" nonsense: it's STRICTLY political.
I won't cast judgment over everyone believing in global warming/climate change, but I've personally yet to meet one single person who believed in climate change who also didn't believe Bush was fill in the blank (any unflattering word), Obama is INCREDIBLE, organics are the way to go, "righties" are the loonies and leftists are just, Gore was robbed and is brilliant and is the best thing that's happened for the planet, socialism (the utopia vision, not the reality) is in because evil capitalism is responsible for all the world's ills, government telling us how to live kicks personal freedom's a$$, and lefist media's reign of terror is needed because of Fox.
Of course, the individual doesn't have to meet every one of those things. But more often than not, they line 'em right up. It's like I win the worst game in Hell's version of The Price is Right.
So I'm over this nonsense. Even assuming climate change was still happening and is actually threatening to our planet, it's not even worth discussing with people whose brilliant idea is to let a socialistic, one-world-dreaming government spend over 100 trillion and raise taxes and control our lives to "fix" it. (Which, try as they might, they could NEVER fix it! If warming is happening due to C02, then we're all phucked. Mankind could contribute 0% and we'd still only buy ourselves another decade, because of volcanoes and fires and everything else that makes up over 90% of all emissions.)
In my estimation, this is the epitome of sheep! It's like hearing that great Smokey the Bear slogan, only YOU can prevent forest fires, and looking to the government to force other people to stop setting forest fires.
People seem to have an abundance of faith in government that's proven nothing but that they know how to waste insane amounts of money. And then it just seems even more ironic! (OMG! I'm having a nervous breakdown just going on about this weird web of BULLSHT.)
People have no faith in people but have faith in government -- which is, by and large, made of of the WORST kind of people you want telling you how to live your life.
I feel sorry for my great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandkids if people are still around after all that time. What will they be blamed for? The continents still drifting? The ice still melting and refreezing? supervolcanoes showing activity?
I think the elite leftists (encompassing, wordly term here) have proven that, if you paint people into a guilt-trip corner, they're your puppets for life!

[b]Wow, Maters. Anything I tried to add to that would be redundant &/or superfluous! Thanks!
Not that I'll stop fighting, or anything, mind you!

Poor JB.
You get lost on yourself trying to be sharp and witty and annoying and still "you" (as in, hey! it's me!) all at once.
But all hope is not lost. You can still turn this around.
One more reply! I know you got it in ya.

having quickly skimmed through your 'if you think blah then you also think blah, blah and erm blah' fishy. i can quickly tell you that the right and the extreme right in countries outside your hamlet don't actually bother with the 'its a hoax thing' and most of these loved bush something rotten.
there is a very small chance that climate change is not caused by human activity but i personally tend to think that it is not worth taking the chance just because it is going to be slightly annoying reducing carbon emissions and installing alernatives. the world has already been made a mess of - sure you want to let the next few generations have an even worse mess?

Global Warming, yea right. I don't believe in any of that crud primarily because my tiny little self cannot do a thing about the earth. It was here before me and it will be here after I'm gone. Its just a power play to get little kids scared about killing the earth. Besides, scientists never "concur" about anything, they don't want to loose the grant money for research.

[b]Real scientists are the first to insist that science is never "settled." If that were so, we'd still believe a boatload of nonsense our progenitors did! (Flat earth, anyone? No? How about "rats come from dirty rags," then? Still no takers? How about, "Man will never fly!" "Okay, he can fly, but he'll never walk on the moon!"
)

[b]"Okay, fine. So he walked on the moon. Doesn't mean he could get to Mars! Or live there! So THERE!"
We'll see. And we'll also see about warp drives, terraforming, force fields, lasers as weapons, cloaking devices, cybernetically-enhanced people, time travel, nanobiology, & a host of other things some scientists thought were impossible...but which have actually been achieved in rudimentary ways...in cyclotrons & other realms...
I keep up with science!

[b]Not to stir up any more ants' nest, Thea, but the real point (& my final word on this to you) I made was about the blatant untrueness of the poster's statement--not about websites (though many do exist), but that anyone who even watches the news would know better. That, AND, that to state baldly that such-&-such people "don't exist" is the height of silliness!
I mean, we might argue as to how many, proportion of the scientific community, or their credibility, but not that people who are on TV & in newspapers & magazines all the bleeping time don't exist?? Helloooo, that's pure ostrich city!

very fine non-argument there my dear. incidently why am i back to a 'he' again? i have already said that i am perfectly happy to discuss things with people i disagree with however angry silliness tends to be rather offputting. and here is the link again, if it does not work then let me know: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11462
