I have experience of getting lost in a foreign country that is not to fear because I got lost in the country of Singapore which if from Jakarta only need 2 - 3 hours travel by plane
Since landing at Changi I was suspicious even with an English accent singapore citizen: the Chinese-Indian-Pakistan-Malays. If talking to them was not dominated by eye contact, but the observation of an intense movement of the mouth.
Admittedly, Singapore is a very orderly country: to cross must to the place of cross, wanted to take a taxi must line up, do not spit, limited number of vehicles, etc.. But the most disturbing my conscience is the cost of living in Singapore is very expensive.
In the early days, before buying something, I'll spend the first few minutes to calculate, approximately how many XXX amount of goods, if converted into rupiah. Turned out to make dizzy.
Rupiah disappear in an instant. For example, I bought Carefree in Indonesia, it costs around Rp. 4000. In singapore = $ 4.5, about IDR 31,950.
For one meal with rice, the average price of $ 5.5, approximately $ 39,050. Imagine if you eat 2 times a day, how many expenses per month. But the biggest expense Singapore society is not food but in clothing. Rare among people who cook their own food, buy only enough.

Sale of Cooking oil in singapore will not sell, because people singapore prefer healthy lifestyle without cooking oil. great!
In terms of lifestyle, everyone seemed to dress up, regardless of status and work: all dressed up. I got surprised to see girls use dress, tank top, makeup and high heels to the campus. Funny I guess if you see college students dressed up like that, so the spirit of college.
I was thinking if there were no poor people in Singapore. It turned out that I found also a beggar at Clarke Quay, but the new one ... lol

On my way around the world when I was 20 I visited Singapore which was average priced and Sumatra in Indonesia. It had such bargain prices. I stayed in a backpackers hostel in Singapore and did self catering there. I stayed in guest houses in Sumatra for much less money. I even ate out there. I had food like passion fruit and rice. Yes, Singapore is probably the most orderly city in the world. I have been back to Singapore again singe then on my way home from Australia. I am an experienced traveler. I know some countries that I have been to are expensive compared to my home country like Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The cheapest countries I have been are Indonesia, Guatemala, Romania and Bulgaria. In the USA I was surprised to see so many beggars.
