What would you scrimp on? On giving your children money to spend? On enjoyment example like going for a movie? On buying things that you like for example clothes? On food?

I find it hard to reduce allowance for older children though it should be them since they are big enough to go out to work, even if it is only part time. But, older kids can be rather stubborn especially if your spouse had been doting them.

By scrimp I assume you mean save money or not spend money. I have personally never heard the word. Anyhow in rough times first thing I cut down on is entertainment. Instead of going to the movies, out to eat we watch movies or shows online. We cook instead of eating out. We save on gas by not going many places. Stuff like that. When we have more money then we treat ourselves. And on poorer weeks we have cheaper dinners. So I guess there are a lot of things I "scrimp" when necessary.

You guessed right, I meant save money. So which would be your top choice to save money or would you do all together? If dragged for a long time, not being able and have to save, I will feel miserable and get very hot tempered. What about you?
