I had a cocker spaniel. called him Prince. Golden brown. with a white belly. three white spots on his nose. He was the runt and the owner kept tellin us he wont survive yet I had made my mind up. It was him I wanted. Still remember the first night he spent at my place in my room. We created thi bond. He used to jump on my stomach every mornin to wake me up. Everyday, when I came home from school, I could see his shadow between the gap of the door and the floor sniffing the other side, waititng for me to open the door. One day I came back...and he was gone. I ran adverts, spent a month running around the neighbourhood lookin for him. I never gave up but unfortunately he never returned. Still miss him sometimes, wonder where he is or if he is even still alive. Its been ten years. I use his license number as my ATM pin so I will never forget him. Somehow, I have lost the interest to get another dog. I just feel like I had lost a family member and ...it sucks...but he's never comin back. :(

Dogs are amazing. They have these extraordinary sense that could make their owners well deserved to have them. I empathize with you regarding the lost of your dog. Dogs are smart they know how to come back home unless they have been kidnapped or lost in a place they never been before.. They have the instinct to know the smell of their owner and home. I am sure that your pet misses you too. Just take things positively and at least your pet had remained good memories with you while he is still there..
