What will you do when you see your best friend smoking????

I don't like smokers, so I don't think that I make friend with one of them. Smoking is a habit which is easy to recognize, so you don't need to wait until someone tells you that he's smoking. In a rare case, after a long disappearence, my friend returns with the habit of smoking that he didn't have before, I will ask him the reason why. Well, we're all adult, and know well the harm of smoke, so I won't try to convince him to give it up, I'll just say that I can't stand the smoke. It's his choice that I respect, but he must respect me too by not smoking in front of me.

If I saw my best friend smoking, I would ask him why she would even do such a thing? I'd list out all the negatives to smoking and tell him how detrimental it is for his health. I'd of course, be very angry because we share everything (secrets and all) with each other and for me to find out about his smoking habit in this way would affect my trust towards him. But what angers me more than just him not telling me what was going on, is the fact that he would smoke. I mean, I would've thought that he knew better than to smoke. I would definitely confront him and tell him how I feel and how I thought he was smarter than to choose to smoke. I think if I really cared for him and he still didn't listen to what I had to say, I would set up some type of intervention for him because I care for his health. I don't want him to shorten his life anymore than he has already with how much smoking he's done. I also would ask him how long he has been smoking because I'd be curious to know how long he's kept this secret from me.
