Are you aware of the pollution around us?

On our earth, some of us might not even know but there is a lot of pollution. Pollution really harms the environment and also it harms all living organisms, including us humans. Therefore, with the pollution that we are producing we are harming ouselves. Pollution can take on many forms. The air we breathe in, the water we drink from, the ground where we grow our food and the every increasing noise we hear everyday. All of these contribute to health problems and a lower quality of life. For example, the ozone pollution which is caused by the carbon dioxide in the air, is the main source for respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease, throat imflammation, chest pains and congestion. In my opinion, we have to try out best to stop pollution by seeking out methods of how we can reduce the pollution around us. What about you? Are you aware of the pollution around us? Would you do something to try and reduce the pollution being produced?

I wouldn't have been aware of pollution if it weren't for my science lesson i had 15 years ago. I know that there is harm to the enviornment because of global warming, which means that a harmful gas has punctured holes through the ozone layer, making the sun more accessible to earth, thus heating it up. Whenever i look at the exhausts of cars and see that smoke come out, I always am scared for my own well being and the people around me. This is because although that gas maybe a small amount compared ration wise to the volume of air on earth, it still is another step into polluting the enviornment even more. I already do my part to stop polluting as much as possible ( I installed a filter on my exhaust which removes some harmful chemicals from the gas, mainly the Carbon Dioxide). Anyways even if we where to stop pollution today, on the spot, it would be too late. We are already screwed. The carbon dioxide in air currently is 4.5 % (risen from 2%). This may not seem like a large amount, but it is rising. Also, ozone does grow itself, but so slowly that it can't compete with the carbon dioxide eating it down. So this blessed hole is growing bigger, increasing the warmth of our planet.

Very good and valid points. It's a very good thing that you are learning about the environment and how to take care of it at a young age, I'm totally in favour of that. Yes it's true we have a serious Ozone problem because of the ever increasing carbon dioxide in the air. It's very good that you are already trying to help the environment, I'm very happy for that. It is very true that global warming is caused by this also. Your point about car exhausts is also very true, even I too sometimes see cars infront of me with heavy, thick, smelly, choking black smoke coming out of it. If you had to go to Bejging you would find alot of car pollution.

Sure pollution damages us in many ways, but I don't agree it damages our earth as to climate. Climate changes have been going on for billions of years. We have had ages of ice, ages of absolute warmth, moderate ages. So who says it isn't just another of those hotter ages coming our way? I'm not going to reduce the pollution myself, the big players should do that, USA, China, Japan, India and yes even Australia, they are in the top 5 of most pollutive countries in the whole world. For the first four I understand why they're in it, but for Australia, I don't, I give you that. In general we can say all five countries can and should reduce the pollution, it's even possible without downgrading the amount of production, so what's stopping them from doing that? Or are they aware of the fact that it doesn't have to do with climate but with human lives, lives which aren't contemplated as being important... I have got no clue, but it is strange...

You have mentioned some very good valid points. I totally agree with you especially with the fact that "big players" should contribute most of their money to help stop pollution because poorer people could not do much to help this World. Regarding the countries that you have mentioned, I would take china as being the most pollutant because of the over population and they, over there, produce every type of pollution you can think of! But pollution does have a great effect on our climate, such as the heating up of the earth because of the damage to the ozone layer caused by the carbon dioxide (Co2) gas. The heat produced also is responsible for the melting of the ice caps and the increase in water level, so how could this just be a result of the random climate changes of billions of years?

Climate changes are known to occur for millions of years. So my doubt lies in whether or not the current climate changes are due to the pollution or just part of the bigger image: ages in which the earth was barely warm enough for human life, ages in which it was hot, and moderate ages. I am not entirely convinced yet about the recent claims of pollution being the cause of global warming. There are also people who claim and are in possession of proof indicating that the research data has been tampered with. Why would those global warming scientists do that? In which manner are they benefited from any alleged attempts of tampering? What I do see is that people die and become victim of the recent strong increase in pollution. That is why I say that we should raise our hands for countries like China. Did you know for example they've done all kinds of things to the air in Beijing to be able to continue the olympic games? Without doing so the whole olympic event would have been canceled, either because you can't see one thing or the sportsmen wouldn't be able to breath again and probably have their lungs damaged... @Anne: Scientists have allegedly tampered with research results on top of that the earth has always been instable and sensitive for sudden climate changes, who says it isn't for that reason the temperature increases?

yeah i am definitely aware of the pollution around us.i think the best way to handle this problem is to shift to cleaner sources of energy like solar power. We are all looking for ways to cut cost as the price of living continues to rise. And, with the recent push to more green power sources, we look for ways to do our part in saving the environment. One of the best ways to accomplish both of aspects is to switch to solar power. There are so many different ways to implement the renewable source in our daily lives, and with a few simple questions, you can find the right one for you.

I think almost everyone is aware of the pollution. I'm really scared of the pollution because I could already feel the drastic environmental changes that it is causing. I just hope that we would be able to do something about this before it's too late.

all of us aware of the pollution around us now-a-days because due to these many diseases are spreading and creating massive damage to the people.due to these pollution viruses are getting more stronger and causing many dangerous diseases. well every year there has been lots of things has been discussed but the practical is very few and the companies and mills just putting their waste in everything, water, air, land so still its getting difficult to stop all these so quickly but it is possible but we have also have to sacrifices the things. the question is really that are we ready to scarify? :)

I used to work in a high-rise building months ago and I would notice a change in the environment easily. Everytime, after a typhoon, when the morning sun rises, you'll see clear skies and everything seems to be calm and clean. After just two days, all you can see in the morning, in spite of the sun shining brightly are gray clouds and you know it's not fog or rain clouds because of its dirty, dark hue. It's definitely pollution. We should do something about it or eventually all of us will be wearing gas masks in the future.

I am aware and know that the air around me was infected several forms of pollution, both air pollution, sound pollution and even smell. To reduce pollution levels around the place to stay, I and some neighbors tried to planting trees and shady big fast. With a lot of trees around the residence, and a comfortable place to live and of course the main objective can be achieved that expectation levels of pollution can be reduced
