What's your winter in the cold bath with cold water do?

Yesterday,I saw an old man in the street.there are 70 years old,wearing summer clothes, do not stand the cold,in good health.I asked him ,how can you stand the cold? he said that he had been bathing with cold water ,so the body with the resistance,what's your winter in the cold bath with cold water do?

I take cold showers in the summer (simply because it will get so hot and humid here). I do not wear summer clothes, but it can be warm enough for them in winter at times here. Perhaps I am not the best person to answer this question. However, I do not think that any amount of bathing or showering in cold water could prepare me for being outside in summer clothes in below-freezing temperatures. I am sure that it would make it a little easier to withstand, but humans are programmed to be able to comfortably tolerate a certain range of temperatures, and below freezing in summer clothes is not one of them.
