When your parents depends on you?

Recently I finished reading an old novel from famous author Anna Quinlend. It's was about family, a mother who was suddenly diagnosed to have a cancer. A daughter who's quite successful on her career need to quit her job and look after her ailing mother. It was indeed a very difficult decision for her. The story is very inspiring, moving and heart breaking. Then I was thinking if it happened to me or to you. If your loving and caring mother needs your fulltime attention, are you willing to give up your career to personally look after her, or will you look for someone to look to take care of her?
