Make us worthy lord,to serve those people through out the world who live and die in proverty and hunger. Give them through our hands this day,Their daily bread and by our understanding love, Give them peace and joy Money and greed dominate Christmas season. This is especially true in the us. Where the amount spend on Christmas gifts continues to raise, I done some checking and discovered in 1994 55 million dollars was spent on Christmas.Just 14 years later, it is estimated that 160 to 200 billions dollars will be spent this Christmas season. That's more than two-thirds of the US defense budget. In the process, The real emphasis of Christmas- striving for peace and helping the less fortunate- has been lost in the vulgar haze and crass giltz of commercialism Please lets help those this Christmas season you have less than we do.and let us not for get the real meaning of Christmas. Merry Christmas My lot users

Christmas should remain what Christmas really is, the celebration of the birth of Christ. Giving to one another and our children a gift or two is fine, but it seems to have gone way over board, and the real meaning has been forgotten by so many. Going to church that day (for some, the only time of the year), seems to be the way people can say that they did their thing, and now on to the presents. I, too, was guilty of this when my son was young..there was nothing better than buying him the things he longed for. But then one Christmas, I got carried away, and saw the multitude of things under the tree. I literally got sick over it, and vowed I would never do that again. Christmas is not how much we buy, it's about showing the love we have for another, and one gift can do the same thing. Now, as adults, our way of expressing the real meaning of Christmas, is picking a name of a local Charity, and giving the money we would've spent on each other to that organization. It makes you feel a whole lot better.

It is just too easy to live the good life and not think of Toys for Tots or any of those things. People want to keep up with The Jones' and all that. That is much more important than helping your fellow man or going green just a smidge. We could all do something to help if we wanted to.

There are a lot of people that have forgotten what Christmas is supposed to be about. There is so much money spent. I think that it's great that you are pointing out the poor. There are more homeless this year than ever before. It would be nice if everyone just shared a little. It would really add up if we did.

I will have to agree with the response above me. The poor is getting poorer and need those that can help. Their are children out here that won't get any christmas because parents cant buy extras and pay the bills too. They everone's help right now. Go find a family and take them a gift or two along with the christmas story of Jesus..
