Nail inserted in the palm while climbing the Bus.Do I need take TITNUS Injection  

If you have not had a tetanus shot in the last few years, it would be advisable to get one.

I think they last for upto 5 years though correct me if am wrong but believe this is the case.

So if you haven't had a tetanus injection within the last 5 years then I would go and get one from your gp etc etc as its better safe than sorry.

If you have had a tetanus injection within last 5 years then don't worry about it.

Sad to hear that,if the nail had rust on it you better see a doctor and get a tetanus injection.Since you are not sure about the nail,I'll suggest you to get a tetanus injection since there is point in taking a chance as it can prove harmful later.If you have had a tetanus vaccine as a child,I don't think there is any need to worry about it.Don't think too much about the wound and be casual,it will heal in no matter of time :).

hi,It is better to have injection,why do you take chance.Once you have an imjection,it will work till 6 monts.

Sorry for that:) Its better you check with your doctor. I think if you have had TT injection for the past 6 months. Then you do not have to worry.

All forms of transports such as busses are very dirty especially if you got pierced by a nail. Now, If the bus that you have climbed on is old, there is a very high possibility that the nail has becomes ionized (is rusted) and that bacteria are probably lurking on the nail. So if I were you, I would have a check-up immediatly to make sure that you are ok. If you don't go check it up, then withing a few days very harsh symptoms could occur to you and your palm might turn blue/purple.
So please, go and have it checked, the doctor is the only specialist who can tell you whether or not you need the injection.

Most likely you were injected with a vaccine as a child for tetanus. Ask your mother or look up your health records.
It is most likely that you will not need the injection. Did you disinfect the wound? used alcohol and covered up? are there any redness present on the site? are you experiencing any symptoms? As I can see you are still reading this you are safe ;) Don´t worry anyone can get a nail stuck in the palm of their hand. If you experience any weird symptoms contact your doctor immediately.

Personally I would go to see the doctor. I know that if it was me, I would not leave something like that to chance. If you haven't had a Titnus shot, I would definately get it checked out, if not you could develope blood poisioning or something worse. I hope that you find out what to do, Happy mylotting

Holy crap that is definitely serious. Especially if the nail is rusted. Please go to your doctor straight away and doctor or no doctor i would take the injection so if in the future you get a rusted nail injected in your body, you would be covered. No im serious you should take the tetanus injection, because you never know when something like this might happen again! I mean how you got it in the palm is pretty random, so take caution and take the injection. Thats what i advise anyway, its better than getting that nasty infection/disease.

If the said area supposedly hit your palm by the nail and it did not bleed, then the possibility that you may get that infection.. better consult a physician to detect surely if you will be given that injection ahead or not..
