Yesterday was my 46th birthday. But it was Saturday that I got a really big surprise. We arrived home after running errands and there was this big box sitting at the back door. 1 dozen red roses from my dad. It's the first birthday present from my dad, well, since I am an adult. I was too young to remember him when last I saw him. Long story, I was adopted. Besides the lovely roses from my dad, I got cards from my mom and my in-laws. Barry bought me some fingerless gloves so I can type and keep my hands warm, yippee! He also bought me some nice warm pajamas, don't ask what he said he wanted to buy me, lol. Also a cap and a pretty little necklace. He cooked me a delicious steak for dinner and he bought me a card that made me cry. I'm going to share it with you because it is so lovely. Get a tissue, now! For My Wife You know the story. Two people meet and fall in love, they move all their belongings into the same small place and begin to make a life together. They discover that they have three toasters, two blenders and not even one coffeemaker. They don't fold their shirts the same way, and they can't always agree on whose turn it is to clean house. But theses are the little things, and because these two people love each other, they find a way to work them out. As time passes, there are other things - money worries, illnesses, family crises. These are the big things. But because the two people love each other, they find a way to work them out, too. And on special days like birthdays, they think about each other and about all the fun stuff they share and about how their love has got them through the not-so-fun stuff. And he says to her.... Thanks for everything. I still love you very much. Isn't that beautiful? Like I said, I cried. Truth is, I was very emotional anyhow. See, my eldest cat, Pumpkin, she is soon to go to the Summerlands. She suddenly can't even stand. We put her food and water next to her. She will only take a tiny bit. She is piled up on a nice soft pillow with warm blankets to keep her warm and cozy but it is obvious she won't be her much longer. So I spent most of yesterday in or near tears. We may have to take her to be put down if she isn't any better today. I'm going to stop or I'll be crying again. Hug your families and your furbabies today. Carolyn

Thank you Tamara. Pumpkin ate some last night and drank quite a bit of water. We cleaned her up and laid her on a clean pet bed and wrapped her up all warm and snug. She still isn't standing and walking. Barry is still hopeful. She is still alert, purring and preening. I'd cook for you if you weren't across the ocean in another country. Anything you desired. Blessings
