Soap As the world turns cancelled after 54 years  |

|  I think soaps are the guilty pleasure of the masses, unbelievable plots, impossible recovery and ageing or lack thereof and finally lots of love stories, that rarely end in happily ever after for long. This is the second long term soap to end in the US do you think it's a trend in the way people watch television or just that show that didn't work any more? What or who will you miss most from ATWT?

| |  I dont watch this particular soap, but as soon as I saw it was canceled, I thought the same thing. Two just this year! I watch Days, and I hope it lasts, I would miss it (tho I would survive lol).

| |  You're kidding me? I haven't heard that yet. I'm still not over Guiding light being off the air. I will miss it peeriod, I can't believe that this one is ending too.

| |  Does CBS really think that more game shows and more talk shows is the way to go? Dr. Phil is very bad and not worth watching already so just what will they put on instead of ATWT? They already have the worst and most biased national news shows and now they are heading toward a really bad daytime schedule.

| |  When I think of As The World Turns, I think of my grandparents. Every day they would put two pieces of candy out and sit and watch their soap. If you stopped over to see them at that time, you had to sit and be quiet until it was over.
The only time I really followed soap operas, was when my son was very little and I was home during the day.
I'm really sad for all the people that have followed the stories all these years. The characters become part of the family. I wonder if they take the fact that a lot of working women actually tape these shows and/or watch in the evening. The show will be missed by many, I'm sure.

| |  I think that game shows and talk shows are cheaper to produce, unless your host is Oprah. Then there are the other cheaper shows like all those court room shows.
