I remember that in my whole schoolhood, I was only once asked by the teacher to write a book review when I was no more than 11 years old, an age which was too young to understand how to write a more than 1500-word book review. Yet, I did it. Actually I didn't understand what I was reading and I didn't go through the book at all. All I did was actually copied some sentences from the synopsis of the book, pieced together paragraphs and finally my over one thousand words review was done. I know this is very ironic because as a pupil in an elementary school, or even though as a middle school student, or even as a college student(in China), there has been not a single class dealing with writing a book review or a movie review actually. This lead to the common phenomenon that even graduates find it hard to wirte an English essay more than 300 words. We don't have writing class at all, yet all sorts of exams require us to become able in writing essays all of a sudden ! Does the education condition differ in your country?

You have done an excellent job. I have joined a site on the internet where I write reviews, The site is "Review Stream". One can write brief reviews about a variety of topics, things one comes across in the day-to-day activities, shopping, movies, books, restaurants, hotels, and so on. I get paid once my review submission is accepted and approved. If intereste, you can join the program. It is free to join.

Yes, but only when I was young. Indeed, it was during my english lessons when I was forced to right a review, or else get a big round zero, about movies, books, articles, companies and so on. I always thought that writing reviews, for me is a waste time and how do writing reviews contribute to your learnings in life. Till this day, these answers have still not been answered and since finishing school, I never ever wrote another review because It's boring, and for me, a waste of time. In my country, education is pretty strict and doing english excersises related to language is compulsory.

I am always into writing book and movie reviews up to now because I maintained a blog about book and movie reviews. It's a good ground to practice writing and improve skills in writing.
