hi friends.congrats to team india for becoming the number 1 team but somehow i got the feeling that the indian players would have cursed BCCI and ICC the very next moment.

reason:
INDIA WILL BE PLAYING ONLY 2 TEST MATCHES FOR THE NEXT 11 MONTHS AND THAT TOO AGAIN BANGLADESH.
lol.
even more troublesome is the number 2 team south africa plays 4 teat matches while the number 3 team australia will be playing 8 test matches in the same period.
but the funny thing will be after these 11 months ,we will still complain about the team india playing excess cricket.lol curtesy world T20 tournament and IPL.lol

First of all congrats to India for getting No.1 position in ICC ranking.
You are taking negative out of the condition.
You should also think positively from this. Say
South Africa & Australia are playing 4 tests & 8 test then their chances to loose their position also more... :-)

Finally the dream has come true for Team India. After beating Sri Lanka in the last Test of the series, India jumped to the numero uno position in Tests. When India began the last day of the last Test, it was a matter of only 4 wickets to realize their dream. And it took only 40 or so minutes to become the number-one team in Test cricket for the first time since the Test Championship was introduced back in the mid 2001.
At the start of 2009 India was placed the third team in Tests with 119 points and India will end the year as the top team with 124 points after going past Australia who are now third with 116 points and the second placed South Africa with 122 points, who till India’s victory were at the summit. The 2-0 win for India means that Sri Lanka has slipped to number-four position with 115 points, just a single point separating Australia and Sri Lanka for the third and the fourth position.
Even though Australia are engaged with West Indies currently in Tests having already won the first of the three Tests, a 3-0 win will not be sufficient for the Ponting led team to threaten Dhoni’s number one team. But South Africa pose a danger to Team India as they start a four match Test series against England later in the month. Even a 2-0 win will be more than enough for the Smith led Proteas to dislodge Team India from the number-one spot.
But whatever be the scenario, one thing is for sure that, at least for the time being, Dhoni will bask in the current success. Team India will celebrate for a day or two without thinking of the future ratings and will gear up for the shortest version of the game before again facing the islanders in the five match one day series.
And the last thing, I don't think that India's number one position will be that under threat though there is point in what you are saying.
Secondly, BCCI, in it's schedule has not kept many matches for Team India in the near future. So, that is a bad news for India who might now want to play more matches to keep their number position alive.

I heard about the news. Congrats to India cricket team. I have never heard that there is another funny information life this follws the first rank. That is sad. Indian test team needs to play with good opponents to retain their good play and thereby retain the first rank. Anway, I hope this will be managed by ODI matches.

Congrats To India For becoming First Time Ever Test Team Champion in the History of the Cricket world. But yes the other Two Teams Australia and Southafrica can get back their positions in Test Match having more number of Tests compare to the current Champion Indian Team.Even more worst Current and new Schedule says India will play 2 Tests Against Bangladesh in Jan 2010 and 2 against Newzealand in the November 2010.Still I Think India might have chance to remain at no.1 position by whitewashing the upcoming Test Series.
