First of all, I am sure a lot of you here and out there on the internet would agree with me that the medium with which you are working away electronically and online is a state of the art, impressive and wonderful tool. Yes, I am referring to that personal computer that you have in front of you - be it a desktop, laptop, notebook, Mac, Mac Book, Joo Joo or whatever. I am sure you've been having a ball of a time with it - the speed on the cyberworld, the vast amount of information and knowledge gained, no way if it had been like those old traditional days. Yet, I feel that although we have come far to be where we are today, I think we should keep some traditional wise old tips on how to be safe with our private details and about not revealing too much of ourselves on the net. I do not know about you and a big majority out there that likes to keep every personal details in our computers and worse in the pages of social networking sites like Facebook, My Space, Twitter and etc.. I mean why should you be storing vital private and confidential information, information that could compromise your identity and security in your virtual sites when it should actually be in the back of your head. I mean what are you thinking storing your social security numbers, passwords, PIN, bank account details and etc.. Are you so generous with your hard earned savings and that good character you have worked your butt for, to be what you are today? Not enough? Then, what is that revealing ALL and TRUE in the 'About me', 'Family & Relationships', 'Work & Education and Photo Albums' that are already tagged in the 'Everyone box' of your social networking sites - Bebo, Facebook, Twitter and etc.. So what if they have a privacy apps in their site? Or, customization for "Only Friends" to read? As if a CROOKS cannot befriend you first and then help themselves on the "buffet spread", which you have kindly laid for them. Blame who, now? What are you people thinking of? Let's not forget that this Cyberworld like the real world is still made up of people like me, you and CROOKS who we do not and could not know, until it is too late and hitting us like an onrushing train. Have you forgotten about those victims of identity theft, scams and lost fortunes? Look all I am saying is that we all should be wise and mature enough to know how to be safe with our personal details. This is not some place where honesty begets honesty - at least NOT ALL TIME here in the Cyberworld! So again, be safe than sorry. Compliments of the season. beabenitez, If only we have more people like you, then identity theft would never have a chance. As of this time, Facebook is now coming up with customize sharing, isn't it a joke? Talking about selling medicines here, this to me is just some scrabbling campaign - I mean so what if we can customize our sharing, when there are ways of exploiting to get these vital details. I say, if there is anything that is vital and confidential, keep it inside ourselves - if we cannot even trust the people around, then what is a computer when it is being created by people. I hope that those contemplating of supporting this will not remain naive. Have a nice day and compliments of the season.
