I use an open source registry cleaner for my two and a half year old desktop computer. I recently started running a registry software because I noticed that my computer was running a bit slow, and it wasn't loading fast enough I think its working a bit better now though I've just tryed it out for the first time yesterday, so I guess its to soon to tell. well how about you all do you use a registry cleaner?

Hm, never use a registry cleaner :p Usually clean the registry manually. But it was a good idea for novice user to use such tools. And you have to clean the registry periodically, especially when you start to install anything to your computer as your registry will become a mess after this. And you can use HiJackThis software to help you determining your computer configuration, suspicious registry, suspicious start-up files, etc.

I know a little on how to clean my computer manually, but I find that cleaning it myself can be a bit tedious, so I decided to try ccleaner instead its much faster then doing it yourself but to be safe I use ccleaner with a good antivirus software to make sure I dont get a virus while downloading and using the cleaner.

Yes I use CCleaner to keep my computer in order. It deletes temporary files and other folders that I configure to delete and also cleans my registry. It keeps my computer in working order. It is free and it is very easy to use.

I don't use anything like that. I have tried, but it never seemed to do the trick. What I found works best is just keeping up my cleaning routine. Just like house work that needs done computers need to be cleaned every so often. I try to regurally run disc cleanup, and disc defragmentor. I also clear my computer of unwanted and un needed start-up items such as messangers, and other background programs that can be launched when I want to use them. This greatly speeds up start-up time and over all performance.

Yes I use reg. cleaner and reg. defragger every week to keep my systems registry healthy. Computer's registry may build up junk keys within one month after installing the OS. So it is must to tweak your registry every 15 days in my experience. I hope this will help you.
