How Often Do You Socialise As A Married Couple? And where?

Hubby and me are lucky in the fact that we both love football (soccer). Before I met John I had always been out with men that pretended to like this wonderful sport. I knew this because hardly any of them would attend a live match. You cannot be a fan of football if you do not attend live games...or at least one, in your lifetime.
Anyway, you will probably have gathered by now that we socialise by being season ticket holders for Carlisle United, our local football team. Every two weeks we walk down to the stadium and socialise in the older part of it. The seats we sit in date from the 1920s and they are wooden. The ones opposite are part of the newer stand so are made of blue plastic, blue being the predominant colour the team plays in.
There is a pub (the Sporting Inn) underneath our stand so we socialise in there. For me it is heaven because it is full of men. I have mentioned in previous posts that I have ALWAYS got along with men better than women. There are more couples that go to games more nowadays than say, the 1970s but it is still a "man's game" and that's fair enough. It is a working man's pastime (at least in the lower leagues) so men in particular like to let off steam but the hooligan element is virtually non-existent, although trouble can erupt with rival fans if the police are not there to seperate them BEFORE and AFTER a game.
We also socialise via hubby's ex-workmates. Tonight there is another "Thurnams get-together" whereby we shall visit the local pubs in the area and have a good old natter, which is what socialising is all about.
Where do you go to socialise and is there a smoking ban in place as in this fascist country (UK). I don't smoke myself but hubby does and pubs are closing all over the country because of this ban. Not very well thought out and, in my view, there should be zones in pubs as opposed to smokers having to endure our horrendous weather. I feel like "Billy No Mates" when hubby has to go outside for a smoke!

Hi Janey,
As a married couple we used to go together in watching movie. We have different types of movies to watch. so we watch what i want to see first then we watch his. there's a compromise so no problem. we too loves eating out and shopping together.
