how did your partner and friends?

i just wonder if you have these some sorts of criteria when looking for a partner and even friends. many times i do but there are times i really can't say what i really am looking for but i will just know it if the person is the right one if i get to feel something special about the person and i feel that i have this kind of light feeling i feel toward this person. sometimes i don't recognize. that all the qualities i am looking for in a person are the qualities that are already in a person i know of or am close to. but it takes some time or even years sometimes before i see it in them. it was there all along i just failed to recognize it. and so i feel often times that what we are looking are just right there under our nose and was just there around all along just waiting for us to see it. so what are the qualities you were looking or are looking for in a partner or just even friends.
