What is your favorite constellation

The winter sky is quite pretty. I like looking at the stars at night. Overall, I like Orion the hunter. It is a very recognizable constellation but during the winter my favorite is the Pleiades, although it is not a constellation, it sparkles in the night sky like a Christmas tree. What is your favorite constellation or star cluster and why?

When i was working in Muscat over 20 years back i had bought a telescope and would watch the night sky during the weekends for most part of the night. My fav constellation was also Orion, the Hunter and i could also see the Orion nebula in the belt.Pleiades was also my fav star cluster and through the telescope the stars were very bright and had a bluish tinge since they are new stars.Other fav constellations are Scorpio with the red giant Antares, the Great Bear or Ursa Major,Cassiopeia ,Gemini the twins and Taurus the Bull.The night sky is fantastic to watch and one can keep on looking without ever getting tired.Unfortunately in the metropolis of Mumbai where i live the sky is extremely polluted with light and other things so i can`t see even one star.

It was great ben,though i was there for a short time,ie 4 yrs from `83 to `87 only. Oman is a far better place than Saudi since there are no restrictions like in Saudi .Of course since it is an Islamic state one should be careful, but there is more freedom since you can practice your own religion but only in your house.There are churces and Hindu temples there which is prohibited in Saudi.I do miss Muscat.
