I just missed the carolers going around singing Christmas carols hoping to get some money for a cause. Sometimes they have different projects they said that's why they sang all over the place and people would love to give too. I never hear that anymore here in US. NO Christmas carols around except in the malls they played Christmas songs in their radio/FM or whatever it is... I missed the carolers. Do you have it in your place now? just curious to hear from you.

Yes, we do have carolers in our place. They are from all ages. Some are kids from 5 years old below. While others are teenagers who are members of a choir. I don't miss it because every now and then you would hear them all over the place. However, it is really good way to feel the Christmas spirit.

I've not been hearing Carolers too! Even our church will not do the traditional caroling too. I've noticed this tradition has been fading. Maybe because people have been really too busy with so many other things that they could not find time to engage in this activity anymore. Also there are places here that does not allow carolers unless they are doing it for a good cause and they have to get a permit first from the mayor's office. Well I hope to hear even one before the Christmas season ends.

No I don't have any carolers in my area, I haven't seen carolers or heard any in a long time. When I was younger and lived in a smaller town, I myself used to go out and go caroling with a group of people, it was alot of fun, I miss doing it.

Well i dont think we ever had carollers in our area atleast not as far as I can remember .What happens instead is that you would normally have people singing at the stores fronts and hoping to entice you to come to a particular store. Its a good idea though for persons to sing for charity

hello bebs08, oh yes you are right, here in the philippines, especially in our place cavite. a lot of carolers already. some came from other town just to carol.. and it is nice to see and hear their songs. it seems you are in the orchestra! because they are may carolers singing.. but before they come to a place , usually they send a request or letter that they are coming for caroling.. at least prepared.. some are bands coming to sing.. but mostly are street childrens coming and singing, with their instrument made of cans.. and they are singin' loudly... its just normal every christmas season...at least that tradition is still existing here...

No, we don't seem to have many carolers here. I have just moved to a new area and am surprised not to have heard any yet this year. The local radio station plays the odd Christmas popsongs in between regular music but nothing truly Christmassy, it's sad really. Also, I've noticed a distinct lack of Christmas cards this year, perhaps because people are tightening their belts?

I only saw some kids at the mall, they were Brownies (almost girl scouts) and they were doing a great job. Most people just passed them by but I stood and listened. I think caroling is a bygone era, too bad, I really enjoy people who get into the holiday spirit by singing carols.

Hi, bebs. Carolers? They have been around early ... as early as October, they start caroling. That is true. It is mostly in jeepneys where young children take a ride and stand on the jeepney stepboard and with the accompaniment of makeshift musical instruments (usually 3 to 4 pieces flattened softdrink covers nailed to a piece of wood), they sing carols to the passengers. Sometimes passengers give them but others just ignore them. They are ignoring these children but at the same time very wary or the children's moves ... it is because others are snatchers. That is the sad fact.
My daughter who usually takes rides on jeepneys told me that she always wants to laugh at how these young children sing their carols. The children might have thought of modernizing their carols and make it sound as raps: "Pasko na, Pasko na, maglipay kita, Break it down, yo!" (It is Christmas, let's us all be happy)
Hahahaha.
