I dont think so.He might have asked 2 countries to sign NPT.Anyway that is not going to stop the spread of nuclear weapons.Countries like America and Russia are making more and more powerful nuclear weapons.Obama sent more and more troops to afganistan as well.So how would he deserve to win the nobel?

on the ceremony, he defined the afghanistan war as a justicial war, advocated war on the ceremony of Nobel peace prize, how ironic, time can do so much, it'll proof that it was a joke on politics

I want to first correct a fallicy in your origianl post before I comment on the main topic of it. You said "Countries like America and Russia are making more and more powerful nuclear weapons" . this is not exactly true. We (the U.S.) are actually conentrating our weapon development efforts on more advanced conventional type weapons because over all, they are more effective and usefull. We actually have a lot of conventional based bombs athat are in fact more powerfull now than a lot of our nuke. the most useful aspect of a nuclear weapon is simply having them, they are one heck of a deterent, it isn't something you actually have to use, you just need to have them. conventional weapons on the other hand are usefull only if you actually use them, so they must be constantly researched and made more effective. A lot of them are designed to bury in the ground now before they blow, this minimizes surrounding dadmage while more effectively destrying the target. We also have a number of weapons taht don't actualy explode, they are just inert pieces of metal that hit what they are aimed at with enough velocity that an expolosion isn't even needed. Again, this allows us to minimize or even eliminate collateral damege to surrounding buildings and people. Now on to your Main topic. DId he deserve thepeace prize? Lol, of course not. there were plenty of others on the list who actually did something to deserve it. The Nobel prize committee openly admitted that they awarded it to Obama in anticipation that he might do something to achieve peace. It was a sham, a total sham. I think the moment he found he won it, he should have came out and gave a speech that said something like, " I apreciate your consideration, but I really don;t deserve it so I am declining it, thank you anyway, but there are people more deserving of it, give it to someone else."

He is actually making war and yet he receives a peace prize? That sound quite contrastive to me. Anyway, congratulations to him, I don't think he deserved it, but if the Scandinavians think sending more troops to a country we shouldn't care too much about is peace then who am I to state the opposite?
