Bake Sales

OK, my daughter and I thought it would be a nice idea to have one in our front yard like a garage sale, but it's illegal where we live so we can't. I just wanted to know if it is or if it was legal where you lived, would you have your own bake sale?? Have you ever been to a charity bake sale???

Wow! I'd never heard of a bake sale being illegal. Wonder why? How did you find out is was illegal? Anyway, as far as I know it isn't illegal where I live. I just never thought of having one in front of my house. Our church also has a school and we do bake sales on Sundays for the cheerleading squad, volleyball and basketball teams. The moms who children on the teams usually bake something special to sell for help with uniforms and sports equipment.

We e-mailed the city to see what permits would be needed and they said it's illegal to have a personal bake sale in your own front yard because they can't go and investigate your house the way someone would be able to make sure a restaurant is okay to eat at, and such. You know???It sucks though cause we thought it'd be a really great idea.
