Is it good idea to give gift card ?

I was thinking of giving perfume to my friend on this christmas and i went to mall and see different types of brands and got really confused and one of my friend gave me idea of giving gift card.
What you guys think of Gift card ? Are they give same feeling as Real gifts ....

Yes, it is ideal to give gift cards or gift certificates than the real gift. you are giving the recipient/receiver the chance to choose what she wants to buy for her/himself. the question is how much are you willing to give as it relates to gift checks or gift cards...hehehehehe!

Your idea reminds me of the gift card I got from a friend. With the gift card, I bought something that I preferred in the supermarket where the gift card could be only used. I think that it is a good idea to give a gift card than something that you are not so sure what your friend will like. You see, it was years ago, but I can still remember the card I got.

Gift cards work better for different people. My sister gave my husband and I a gift card to Second Cup (a Canadian chain of coffee shops that we like), and that was good, because it's something we'll use every day. Now, if someone gave us a gift card to a sporting goods store, we'd never use that, because we don't buy things in such stores. It is important to match the card to the recipient.
