How do mylot select the top discussions?

Hi guys, could any one please tell how mylot select the top discussions? When I click on discussions it displays some discussions with the heading todays top discussions but not all of them have a good number of responses or a good frequency of responses. Also its not based on user ratings because there are some users with very low ratings. Also I don't find any order based on the timing of the discussions. Then what could be the criteria for the top discussions?

Well according to me mylot pick up those discussions which are rated by users the most and which had a number of replies . More interesting and useful the discussion is , more users will reply to that useful and interesting discussion and will rate as best and automatically the more rated discussion will be moved to top discussion column , this is what i think and feel rest may be it is dependent upon the page view.
