| Would my desktop compatible to 1 TB or above hard drive?  | | | |  Somebody told me before, not every system can handle super big hard drive. I tested it, and prove it to be a true statement. So, I recently bought a new computer, due to I have many medias downloaded, and I need a bigger hard drive to store these media. My desktop has 2.6 GHZ, 6 GB memory. Do you think a 1 TB internal hard drive will be compatible with this system? Any advise?

| |  6 GB memory.WOW!!! I'm impressed! It certainly sounds like your system can handle anything. What operating system will you use? For sure, you should be able to get drivers from the site of the drive's manufacturer.
There are different schools of thought as to whether you should partition the 1TB so as not to jeopardize all of your data. Also, they say it is faster to use partitions. I have an external 1TB drive. I chose to live dangerously and keep it all in one partition. I do not like to worry about which drive something is stored on.

| |  6GB memory is a lot of ram. If I were you I would go with an external hard drive, and possibly buy two 500GB ones. External are better because you can unplug them when you aren't using them and switch between them. Just my suggestions, good luck!

| |  Not sure about internal hard drives, but most probably 6 GB memory could handle anything. I have only 2 GB memory and it works perfectly with external 1 TB hard drives.
