What does this saying infer to?
Man's too matured in his thoughts and is not ready to takeup new things and accept many new happenings, but to a child all these are special. All these are new and fresh. A child is not as currupt as a man until he/she is made currupt by the surroundings. The child has a heart which no man has.
What do you feel about this my friends?

It is not only a matter of gene. The education or indirect influence are important too, because father is the role model of the child. No matter good or bad points, their children like to immitate. Child and father, they do not have to be exactly the same, it just indicates the great impact of father's words and behavior.
We cannot deny that children are also influenced by mother and their play pals or classmates, but since father started influence from children's early age, then people believe "child is the father of man".
That's just my opinion.

Its a good explanation my friend. But the child gives his father the his child ages. The child's actions makes many changes in the actions of the father.
The child indirectly explains the father whats life all about.
