Does anyone here think we should really have to pay for water? I don't think we should have to pay for it!

The water what we drink has been purfied by waterworks so we have to pay for it.If you can drink the water from a river directly i think you needn't pay for it again.Haha, just a joke.Good luck for you.

I think we should pay for it. If not everyone will not know the importance of water and will just use it until it runs out. And another thing, the government or maybe rich companies are the ones who are capable of building a large catch basin for rain called "dam" and be filtered so many times so it can be safe to use again. :D

I wish that water was free. I have to pay for it just like I do my gas, electricity and phone. I have a system where the amount of water that I use is measured then the cost is calculated. I have two water bills each year. One in April and the other in October. I feel lucky that the water is safe to drink in my home country. There is enough water to bath and shower with. In some dry areas of the world there can be water shortages. I visited San Diego and saw a notice saying it was kind to conserve water there. Water came down from a pipe all the way from Montana I think it said. In the middle of Australia it is dry and there can be water shortages.

that is where you are wrong, yes it is abundant but then most are not suitable for drinking right away and it has to go through a process where it can be drank so..you see that is where our money must come in. we must pay for those who make our drinking water clean:)) and that is how water gets so expensive. plus there are areas where water cannot reach them...so there are people who also makes it possible for them to avail it

I agree with you. Water is the basic necessity of life. We pay taxes yet the government makes us pay for basic things like water. It seems like government is running a business. One is led to believe that government works for the people but it makes us pay for everything that is associated with the government.

Actually I believe we do. The thing is although water is very abundant (in modern countries) the government pays so we can have pipes so it can be transported to us. I'm sure you wouldn't have to pay if everyone had to travel to the nearest water source every time you want water.
