I remember having Sunday dinner at my grandmothers on Sunday. After church with my aunt and cousins we would go over to my grandmothers and have dinner either in her dining room or outside on the lawn. Do you have a special family dinner now during the week or just during the holidays?

I never had family dinners on sunday but my husband did when he was a kid they would always go over to his grandmothers for dinner and football and he says that is one of his greatest memories as a kids.
We don't have any family dinners that we go to outside of the house but one things that my husband and two kids and I always do is having sunday breakfast. With school and work during the week we don't always get the time to get breakfast together so I make sure that we have breakfast together.

When my husband and I have our own place I want to start traditions like that, later I'd like to continue the traditions for when we have kids. My family had their's on friday, my husband's on Sunday.
Now it seems we hardly see anyone from either side.

That's nice. It is good that families have certain traditions like that.

My family would eat on Friday Nights with everyone. well not everyone, my aunts would be there, and cousins, but not always my uncles, and later on not always my cousins. We'd have this at my grandparent's house. We haven't in years, but the tradition even added my cousin's husband and my uncle's wife, and my sister's husband but before it got around to my husband, lol, we stopped having it.

Well, it is good that you get together with as many as possible.

We did. I think more and more people aren't really getting together with family except for the holidays. My husband's father's side we hardly ever see. I hardly see my mother's side, and hardly talk to them as well!

I consider myself lucky if I get to have a special dinner with family at the holidays. Lately I feel as if I have no life outside of work. My husband and I work different shifts often, as well. Holidays do focus around good food and special dishes.
