Hi everyone, Are you better at baking or cooking on the stove top? I like baking more, I think it's kind of magic the way it looks one way going in and different coming out of the oven. So, I think I'm a better baker. How about you?

I live in Spain and cook a lot of Spanish recipes, which are mainly one pot stove top dishes. I prefer cooking on the stove top, as I feel I have more control, and there's also less to clean at the end. I do use the oven occasionally, but only for roasts or pizzas, that sort of thing. I don't bake cakes or puddings, as we don't bother if they're not in the house, but if they are, we can't rest until they're gone. As we both have to watch our weight and my husband is diabetic, it's best not to have the temptation.

I'm a great cook! I love cooking and I've been doing it for years, but no matter how hard I try I just can't bake anything that turns out right. Cookies come out ok most of the time, but I usually totally mess up cakes, pies rolls etc. I did manage to make some peanut butter fudge for Christmas that actually turned out very well, but...my husbands favorite cookie is a no-bake, and I've tried for years to make them and they always turn out runny. It makes no sense to me because they are so simple and only have a few ingredients in them. The ones I just made didn't set up so I put them in the freezer, they taste good but unless they are frozen you have to eat them with a spoon LOL

I definitely am better in cooking rather than baking or frying. Baking is very tough for me and I have no experience of it till now. I wish there would have been some one whould could have taught me baking.

I much rather cook than bake and because I think baking it more exact. You have to put the exact measurements of the right ingredients for it to turn out right. While with cooking, you can add things, omit things, just put a little more this or less that in depending on your taste. Cooking is also easier to fix if you don't like the way it tastes when it is done, you can change it by adding things. But most things you bake, once its done its done and if it isnt good you have to throw it all out!
