How many among you will be working on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day?
I was watching news earlier and they have featured some people who will be working on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day. Doctors, nurses (especially those on duty), firemen, policemen, call center agents, and store clerks. I wonder how they feel having to work while others are having fun with their families and friends. It must be hard but perhaps they do not just have any choice. Or even if they do, they would rather be at work earning extra than being unemployed.

hi dolce!
based in manila so i worked christmas eve and currently working on christmas day. as for me, i have alwayws made it a point to have a day-off for both christmas eve and christmas day. however, i made conscious switch this year. the extra pay is added incentive in my opinion but really nothing more than a bonus. instead of going out or celebrating druing christmas eve and christmas day, i decided to just celebrate the weekend after christmas. i figured lesser people outside and just to experience something different. i've already gave my gifts to my loved ones before leaving for work and so far everyone is having a blast at home and everyone is missing me. lol!!!
only plan for tomorrow is to take my daughter out to play arcade games, do some shopping for both of us, and go to some of the places we wanted to go to like some of the parks and zoos here in manila.
cheers!!!

My husband and I are both unemployed. He's retired and on disability, and I'm on disability. Now, on Christmas day we went to Toronto, so while we didn't work on Christmas eve, the people who worked at the hotel where we were staying were working. They did a top-notch job doing what they do, and the hotel was wonderful.

I was thinking about how many gas stations will be opened because Christmas and the fourth of July weekend is probably their biggest time of the year, at least in the USA. My heat went out last night and I didn't want to call my maintenance man because I knew he was on call, but off work. He lives in the same place I do, and I did call him this morning. I didn't do it last night because it had gotten nasty outside and I figured it could wait until this morning. I woke up shivering so badly! I slept in 2 T-shirts, one sweatshirt, a pair of sweats, and a pair of socks. Luckily, he came this morning and within five minutes he fixed it. I'm so glad it wasn't something he had to work on. But if I hadn't had my heat, I was afraid my pipes would have frozen over and burst. We're getting our first big winter storm of the season today.
