your thoughts on the squad for the bangladesh series

hi friends.the squad has been announced and ofcourse as expected tendulkar opted out giving rohit another chance.this is the squad.
MS Dhoni (capt/wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh, Sudeep Tyagi, Dinesh Karthik, Sreesanth, Ashok Dinda, Amit Mishra
the obvious missing names are ishant and poor pragyan ojha.
got only one T20 and thrown out.
as for ishant,he should be given a rest but i prefer the term RESTED rather than AXED or DROPPED.
it is risky to inlude yuvi with his finger injury still unhealed but other than that i am happy with this squad

It is a good team, but I would have been happy, if people like Yuvaraj, had been given some more rest, so that his finger could heal properly. A chance could have been given to people like M.Vijay or Badrinath.

have to agree with you on badri.poor guy kept on piling runs in the ranji tournaments but never got a real chance cuz of the zonal selection.even now with a southern selection commitee,he still didnt receive his call and he is nearing 30.

i thing this is a good squad . the selectors had done a good job.
giving tendulkar resst is a good move (concedering his age). as Ishanth is not in form it is better to choose sreeanth, who was in good form in test.yuvi is taken in the squad with the hope that he will overcome his injury soon and he may get chance to play some matches.
totally it is good squad

I think the squad is balanced and doesn't miss anything. Sachin's opting out is reasonable and Ishant needs to take a break. Ishant needs to freshen up and recharge himself for the next series.
Yes, Ojha's exclusion is a bit harsh. he performed ok but I guess Ravindra Jadeja's success made his place in the final elevan a bit tough as he is not a good batsman as Jadeja is. So selectors might have thought of leaving him from the squad for the time being.
Sudeep Tyagi and Ashok Dinda must be given a chance in the final 11. And only Amit Mishra seems to be a bit odd but I think he was favored because he is a leg spinner.
All in all, the team doesn't lack anything and expected to perform solidly against Bangladesh!
