How can i boost cable-tv signals to watch all channels...

The cable service center is closed,due to holidays and i know that the splitter is damaged on the street pole.however i can watch few channels,but almost all the channels are not clear enough.so i thought to ask the question here,weather I am able to do something in order to get more clear vision of my cable tv.if anyone could help me .....?
I will really appriciate if anyone knows the hacks,which might work...!

Buy a converter box from walgreens. it will cost about 60.00 to buy. If not try making sure the wire is plugged in tight.

Problem is not the big one.the distributer is not working properly which is fixed on the electric pole about one storey high on the street,and the cable guys are left it as it is.now the problem was holidays,because i watch television every night before going to sleep but due to low signals i was unable to watch many channels of my choice.like discovery,national geographic,history channel & some movie channels therefor television didn't worked for me in these 3 day's of Holidays.....!
Anyways thank you for the suggestion.
