Rooting for the villain.  |

|  Do you ever find yourself rooting for the villain when watching anime or reading manga? I actually find myself doing that sometimes, usually when it's for some shounen series. I'd find myself really annoyed by one of the 'good guy(s)' and wish they would be killed off or something. An example would be Miaka from Fushigi Yugi. She is one really annoying and whiny character. I really do not like those weak and useless female protagonists. I seriously did not like her character and didn't understand why all these guys were falling for her. There were many times that I wished for someone to get rid of her so that I wouldn't have to constantly hear her whining.

| |  I typically love a good villain. InuYasha I was cheering for Sesshomaru more then our heroes, though he is also the reason I first got into the show. Death Note I wanted to see a triumphant Light, especially over M and N, and was sad that Near won the day.

| | You know, I'd have to agree with you there. I would choose Sesshomaru over Inuyasha any day. Inuyasha's character, while not up high in my hated list, is really annoying sometimes. I didn't really like his indecisiveness and attitude at times. Plus, the fact that he was pining after this dead corpse didn't really endear him to me. As for Death Note, I somewhat lost interest after L died. The story wasn't the same after that. | | | |

| |  In Zenki I was rooting for Anju againts Zenki because she was actually a nice oerson being brainwashed and Zenki was actually evil but he was under the control of Chiaki. I hate it that Zenki killed Anju.

| | Ah...it feel like forever ago since I've watched Zenki. I can't really remember anything about it except that somewhat annoying opening theme song. I also hate it when we know that the person who is supposed to be the villain is actually a good person. They are either just misguided, brainwashed (as you mentioned) or something along the line. It really makes it hard to hate them and consider them to be the bad guy in the story. | | | |

| |  You're right Zenki is really a bad guy who is the main character.
I really want to hit him when he killed Anju.
I really wished that Chiaki has a lot more control on him. :(

| | A majority of the villains in Naruto, especially the guys from Akatsuki, are definitely a lot better than any of the 'good' guys. I wouldn't mind rooting for them either. | | | |
