i'm surprised to see the news on the airline attack! we got to went through all the trouble screening and such to prevent such things happen, but it doesn't seem to be doing the job! now, i don't see what is the point of all the troubling we had to went through when travelling...! at first i could understand for safety purposes for the troubles...and sometimes humuliated in a way! i even had to take off my belt for the big pant i was wearing! and my pant was falling off and the officers would rush me to get all my stuff done after screening, and didn't care of what our situation is!!! for safety purposes?!?? now all seem for nothing!
what is the point of the troubles when it is not doing its job?
is it just me feeling this?

I visited Israel in 1998. As part of my trip I popped over to Jordan. I got my entry stamp a separate piece of paper when I entered Israel. I got a Jordanian visa and that is where I picked up evidence of a trip to Israel on my second passport. I am glad when I got a new passport in 2005. I remember leaving Israel I had a personal interview and they took me to a room to do a detailed baggage search. I am an innocent person and they realized that eventually. I nearly missed my flight home. It had been so frustrating to see the check in desk but not be able to get to it. I think that Israel given the threat from some people has excellent security. It is a shame that screening isn't as great in some areas of the world.
I was under the impression that every passenger and piece of luggage is scanned. It was awful that the airline had a attack in flight between Amsterdam and Detroit. I can't understand how that nasty man got through security. Security in my home country don't even allow bottles of drinking water. I have a good drink of water before going through security. Just as there was a re-think after September 2001 there is likely to be now.

That is interesting! I never get to go to Israel, as being a Malaysia Citizen, we are banned from going to Israel! It's just sad! I used to always get an "extra service" from the airport security just because I'mholding a Malaysian Passport! Sometimes it was just outside the screening area, that I have to sit there and had my luggage scanned with every thing taken out...it's kind of embarassing! Especially when I dropped by at Chicago Airport! There is higher chance that I get the "extra service" there!

I think on the one hand, everybody hates going through all that, and who doesn't - yet if you do nothing you're afraid of even flying. The thing is, what ever precautions you take, they will figure out something else. I just think it's a shsme that paying customers have to be part of the security team. This guy was on a watch list. I think they should concentrate on things like that, rather than doing that to every person who wants to fly.

That is true, I would not want to fly if there is no security screening! But what just happened, I was more surprised! How could a person in a watch list never get any further screening while the paid customer who made a little mistake while in the security screening will have to go through a very troublesome screening!
