The terrorist did not interfere with The Obama's getaway vacation.

The terrorist attack was very much unexpected. And as we all are aware, President Barak and his family was in Honolulu, Hawaii having a vacation. This did not stop The Obama's from enjoying themselves in this paradise. I was thinking that it was very silly for this 23-year-old Nigerian man to have any kind of motive to blow up the airplane. I was wondering what President Obama's thoughts were about this. I find it sad that he was on vacation and had to find out that an terrorist had plans to attack the Detroit flight from Amsterdam. As we all know, circumstances are going to happen, that is life. What are your feelings towards this situation? I just wanted to add that things like this can have an effect on kids as well. Why do terrorist just intend only to plot. They don't know how many lives that they have affected. I wished that all of these bad guys were captured. On the world wide news, it stated that there are over 500,000 potential terrorists that are on the run from the government. This is very scary to hear about.
Of all of the people in the world, this portion is designed to kill many people. I really am praying that a solution can be implemented in collecting all of the terrorist and making this world a safer place from terror. It is going to take some time, I know. I and many others just want to see justice served against the terrorists.

Oh my goodness!!! scarlet_woman you are so wild!
Yes, it serves him right for trying to be so dern evil! He ended up setting up his own trap! Thank God! for the man, that tried to pin him down. He was burnt but not as bad as the terrorist was. I wonder if President Barak found it hilarious that this Nigerian man was blew from the waist/lap up! I agree with you, you can't go anywhere, without it always being some person that just wants to cause destruction. The world is not as safe as it used to be.

scarlet you are so silly!!
I don't know what has gotten into these crazy terrorists. He was very stupid for doing that. He must have not been thinking that this same bomb that was in his underwear could have went off in his underwear. What a dumb, untrained, terrorist!

Hi there cream97. First of all, Hawaii is definitely a relaxing place for vacation and I'd love to go there someday to chill out and enjoy the sights and sounds.
As for this terrorist topic, actually come to think of it, no place is quite safe anymore. Like I have this idea like anything can happen at anytime and anyplace and it's so surreal.
It's frighteningly scary knowing that our love ones are going to work and whether they will be safe or not, whether our parents at home are safe or not and stuff like that. It is really a wondrous thought which could be worrying. I even do not have the desire to travel so much anymore, because of this. Partly because of this. Like you too, I hope that there will an end to terrorism. Blowing up people is definitely not the solution..

LOL...I know what you mean. What a spoiler. It will not deter the mood of other travelers, definitely..but the flexibility of anywhere, anytime will be somewhat different now with all these terrorism everywhere.
I hope for a better world as well, all the time..

Yes, me too. I hope that the world will have people just like me and you in it. People will surely think twice about traveling now. I am never going to ride in a plane after just knowing that the plane that I will be in, will possibly cause me my own life. Have A Happy New Year!

Hi, zed_k4. I agree with you, 100%! This issue needs to be dealt with just the right way. This issue does need to be ignored. I think that many people are going to start to be scared when it comes to traveling abroad. I don't like riding on airplanes. I have never been one to enjoy taking countless trips to many places. Hawaii is a beautiful place to travel to. I would love to go here someday myself too. So much for The Obama's family vacation.
It is a shame that Barak and his family could not enjoy their vacation time. It was their own free personal time, and the Nigerian man had to just come along and spoil it for them all. Blowing up people was the last thing that he should have thought about doing.

It is scary to think there are that many out there, you never know who you may be talking to, they may be planning on blowing you up one of these times, its very scary. I hope this man gets punished in the way he deserves, I don't understand how easy it is for people like these to get on our airplanes, that's why I'm never flying. I'm praying that a solution can be found also, I know it will take some time, but I'm ready to have a peaceful safer place to live.

Hi, walijo2008. I feel the same way too. I don't fly and I never will. Things like this will just make people second guess travelling. I would rather just find another way of getting to another location. Danger can strike anywhere it chooses to.
It is like we are not safe anywhere.

I am with some of you who have spoken of not wanting to fly any more.
Too bad some of those ‘trillions’ of stimulis dollars spent on stupid stuff, and some sent to other nations, wasn’t spent on upgrading our railroads and trains!
I am planning a trip home in July, and am planning to find out if I can go via rail road. I don’t care that it’ll take longer – it’s not quite as bad going through their check through system, although I’m sure that would change if and when there was a terrorist attack on a train.
Maybe if the Christmas day flight would have had ‘air marshalls’ on it, there would have been a different outcome. But it is my understanding, that where the plane departed from does NOT allow them on board in airports in their country.
Too bad the airline (Delta, I believe), didn’t have it set up to touch down in another country that ‘would’ allow them on board, so that the passengers would at least feel a bit more comfortable.
Violence is on the increase world wide, and the Bible has prophecies in it to that end. The vilence and lack of respect for human life will get worse as we progress into the fulfillment of all things. ‘nuff said

Thats why they call them terrorist they spread terror, they don't care if its christmas or they kill innocent people,or how much they disrupt normal life.In actual fact they love it all,we get up in the morning and try to live a good day, helping people and supporting our friends,They wake up and think who's life can we ruin today, how many people can we maim. One day it will all be over but not for a couple of generations as you are dealing with hard core nasty beliefs.

Hi, suzzy3. That is very sad. Here I am living my normal life and all of these terrorists are just thinking whom can they strike next. Wow!!!
And here I am thinking that we have enough criminals in the world only to discover that these like minded individuals are just getting started. I will be glad when they bare all locked up and behind bars for life.

Terrorists win if they're able to strike fear into the hearts of americans or anyone else that they're trying to target. Obama won't let that happen. And to be honest, so much crap like this happens everyday now. Eventually people will become desensitized to it all.
And no matter what kind of security that these guys or any other government will try to do to secure it's people, there will always be a way to get by that. The only way to fully protect is to fully strip people of their rights and freedoms.

Hi, RevampSkunk. I agree with you. Even having security will not make a difference. If it did, this man would have never made it on the flight with the bomb explosives. We are all terrified of these people, they will put fear in us when we think about them. But, I know who my God is and he will protect us all, from these evil minded people. We will just have to pray..

Hi cream97,
The trouble is that the law is too soft, there are too many terroriest living in our country without the goverment knowing about it, too many illgal people coming into our country and some of them are terrorist, it is like that in your country too and the sooner the goverment flush them out the better.

Yes, you are right tamaarheart. We live under terrorist and criminals each and everyday and the government has no idea. They have not even caught up with Ben yet and I know that they are going to have a hard time catching the other bad guys too. They need to tighten up on their security teams!

Hello my friend cream97 Ji,
A terrorist has no human feelings, as such he never thinks about situation including his/her own safety. It is some non-social elements at the cost of terrorist benifits lure them to compromise and kill people. When President Kennedy was assissinated, was terrorism not behind. I feel very bad why US, claiming to be super-power have totally failed on this front and unable to control anywhere as a part to throw away terrorism. Why antiaction is still under blue print. Is it not improper norms by the Government all over the world. Why there should be loop holes anywhere in the channel. Why we can not find culprits and hang them on the spot. Till then , we will suffer, let it be Obama OR Pratibha Patil.
Let's devote some time and configure to find out proper soluion. I amwith you.
May God bless You and have a great time.
