Have we met before?

I was walking down the road this morning and I saw a couple looking at me and I looked at them too. We did not smile but later I remembered who they were and looked back but they had gone past my vision. I wonder whether they also looked back and missed me. We were in each other's lives may be 10 years ago and we both had changed and so recognition was difficult. I felt bad that I missed an opportunity to atleast give them a smile. Have you too experienced this?

Not quite the same way. Years ago there was a girl that came up to me and said Hi, How are you? I had no idea who she was. She went to my junior high school and new my name and all the friends I hung around with. I almost fell over and was so embarrassed. I did not recognize her even a little bit and I had to apologize all over the place. That was very uncomfortable and I felt really bad.
