My friend and his girlfriend traveled to Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands for a long stay from the beginning to December to the end of January. It is situated in the Atlantic Ocean and it belongs to Spain. It is known for its winter sunshine. He rang me for a chat so that surprised me. Strangely he said that it was rainy and stormy for the first month. Then the weather changed on Boxing Day and it was sunny with warm weather.
Have you ever had strange weather for the time of the year or location?

Mello, Maxi. We live in Spain, and we drove from Bilbao to our home on the Costa Blanca in mid December, after a visit to the UK. It was actually colder here in Spain than in the UK, and it was REALLY cold there. I drove about 400 of the 500 mile trip through snow and ice, which was scary, as I've never driven in snow before. They get snow in the mountain areas, and sometimes around Madrid, but it's rare to get it as far south as this. We were almost in Alicante before it cleared.
We had a January holiday in Tenerife a few years back. It was glorious, and we were in the outside pool every day.

It is really weird weather that your friend had with the fast change of the weather. We also have some fine days and then it becomes very cold because of the cold wave from the north. Today it is cloudy and a little bit cold outside.

I think it is no surprise now a days to get wired unusual weather. All over the world weather is changing. With global warming everything going crazy. We are also getting unusual weather this winter. We got 3 blizzard already this winter, which is not usual at all.

today is a good example here in our country. just before lunch time the sun shines hot when all of the sudden, sky started to turn cloudy and rain pours while wind blows a very cold air. that climate change happened only by minutes. no wonder my kids get colds that easy. still, happy new year maximax8

dear maximax,
it is always a strange weather here. early mornings with all the fog, so cold, then as the day pass on you get a very hot sunny day which sometimes in the afternoon we get rains with thunder and lightnings.
weather here changes so fast.

A number of years ago in the middle of summer it got cold enough to spit a little snow here. Granted, this is northern new england so we aren't the warmest climate on earth to begin with but normaly our summers are still pretty hot and humid. this particular summer had been somehwat rainy as it was and on this particular day it had been cold enough (just below freezing) to let it put down a sparse snow fall. Hasn't happened since then, this was probably about 20 years ago. They say this about nearly everywhere I guess but it's said up here that if you don't like the weather, stick around for a few minutes. We also call ourlseves the land of 4 seasons.....in one day.
