How should I decorate my bedroom?  

My wife and I just bought our first house and we're trying to decide on a style for our bedroom. My wife wants some classic traditional Victorian type furniture, but I want something modern, like what you'd see at IKEA except not quite so cheap. Those kind of styles don't really merge too well, but we can't think of any way to combine them.

I've been reading a lot of stuff trying to get some ideas ( http://hkcfurniture.com/ ) but nothing helps.

I really don't want an old Victorian looking room, and she said she doesn't want our room to look like an IKEA catalog.

How should we resolve this?
