Got To Be The Worst Political Statement Of This Year

Remember that 787 billion dollar stimulus plan that was going to stop unemployment at 8%, well that is not the worst. The worst of this year is the so called success story of that 787 billion dollars. At the end of October the White House was claiming to have created or saved 640,000 jobs. True these numbers uses funny math, but let us say for the sake of arguing that those numbers are correct. Doing the math those jobs cost the taxpayers 1,229,687.5 dollars. I say that is the worst political statement this year, what about you?

I read the other day that for every government job created, 1.29 jobs in the private sector is lost as a result. Since the private sector is where the wealth is actually created, it would seem to me that this is not a good thing. As to political statements, there have been so many bad political statements that it would seem kind of limiting to single out this one as the worst. I think the worst political statements of the year are all of those that blame Bush for Comrade 0bama's failures. As an aside, Comrade 0bama did make a top ten list when he was named as one of the top ten most corrupt politicians. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=120407

The lies about public sector jobs crowding out private sector jobs are just that... lies. Think of the public sector jobs that private industry does not touch... police, teachers, social services staff, water quality enforcement. Be assured that as governemnt cannot be run as a business, there will be jobs needed because there is no profit motive. We may find it hard to agree on many things... that is one we will never agree on.

You are the one who lies. You have no idea what you are talking about. When we talk of public sector vs. private sector, we are talking about the federal government trying to compete or replace private industry. Police, Fire, and the rest are all LOCAL Government and have nothing to do with the feds. The fact that government run jobs do not need to make a profit is the very reason that the private sector will always provide better quality and service than the government will. Look at the mess the government has made of medicare and social security... and now it wants to replace the rest of the insurance companies? Go back and sit with the kids and leave the adult convo to those of us who actually understand the issues.

..Hi there gewcew23, Happy 2010, It is always of interest to me when people are talking about the nay's instead of the yay's. Were we or were we not going quickly into a depression, not too many months ago, yes we were. Did this administration keep us from worst devastation than already took place by making some drastic changes? Yes! Is the economy reviving slowly? Yes! Is the stock market or more specifically the S & P 500 showing the 2nd greatest gain in history? Yes! Are the unemployment figures a lagging indicator in the economy? Yes! Did it take us eight years or longer to get into the economic quagmire we were in? Yes! Will it take longer than the eleven months that this admiistration has been in office to show a more robust revival in the US economy? Yes! We were saved from going over a cliff, our banking system was a smidgen from total collapse, 133 of them closed in total in 2009. Yes the new employment numbers being touted were off, whoever did it, if by error or design should not have. But this administration should be given credit for doing one heck of a job keeping us from total disaster. The reason nobody gives them any credit and keep quibbling is that it didn't happen, if your house is saved from a fire and total destruction before it happens, you can't appreciate the fact that you still have your house as much as you would be out of your mind if your house burned to the ground. Think about it. Eleven months in office and they stopped a complete train wreck. Others won't, but Chris Matthewsof MSNBC's Hardball graded Mr. Obama an "A", and he deserves it, whether people want to bestow it or not. Take it easy and please appreciate what has gone on in just eleven months. As someone else said, all of the stimulus money is not even in the system yet, please!

This fraud deserves an F.. not an A. Comrade 0bama helped to create the mess, and the temporary turnaround that you are so proud of will not last if he has his way. The economy is recovering in spite of 0bama , not as a result of his failed policies.

The White House is going to spin this thing any way they can to make it look like it's working.I guess Obama thinks that just because people were stupid enough to vote him into office, they'll be stupid enough to beleive anything. Most of the jobs that were "created" were temporary. If the money we borrowed for this stimulus were actually helping, the unemployment rate should have gone down instead of up.Just think,we have 3 more years of this creativity.
