Simple or complex is from your heart?

My friend often say life is simple and relationship or your heart is complex. There is a pile of apples on the desk. Sometimes someone do not care about the quantity of all apples, they want to know how many apples they can get. So the simple thing become more complex. They have their own ways to get more in their heart. The relationship is useful at this time. They do not mind the qunantity of work assignment and want to know how much they can get. So we should deal with the relationship carefully. What's your experience?
