Use of firecrackers during New Years Eve celebration  

Ya there can be some big gathering in new year eve, in some huge playground, where people can sit and enjoy the bursting of crackers done by professionals. By doing this we can prevent individuals from taking the risk of burning themselves or other.

But there should be a lot of security measures taken when people enter the ground, and they have to be scanned for crackers and weapons.

Hope this is a good idea?

I have always thought the use of firecrackers were not the problem. It was the people that who used them. A high number of fatalities back this part up. Lets face it, accidents can happen even with the professionals. Untrained people there is even more of a chance. There should be some regulation. Of course, even with regulation, people will still try and get around it. Still it will cut down on the injuries or worse.

As far as I know firecrackers are not allowed to be sold in Australia to anyone not holding a special licence for the obvious safety concerns. They are very dangerous and I think that the legislation was posted after a string of accidents. In my country we have to be content watching the experts set off fireworks etc. I am surprised that firecrackers are still freely available in some places and I agree that their use should at least be restricted.
