I must confess that I haven't been watching American Football on the television for years. I used to watch it avidly on Channel 4 in the 1980s when soccer was not as popular as it is nowadays, here in the UK. My team at that time was the Los Angeles Raiders and I believe they have now changed their name? Is that correct? At one point I even had an LA Raiders T-shirt and loved it because it was black and very trendy! Do you go to live games yourself? Which team do you support and is it more popular than baseball (something I know absolutely nothing about) and is it family-orientated? Soccer has improved over the years with all-seater stadiums but some of the so-called "Family Stands" are still full of chavs shouting out obsenities to the players. Do you get people like this at American Football games or is everyone extremely well-behaved? Next time I go to America I would love to include a few things; go to an American Football game and watch live wrestling! Both look like a load of fun but for different reasons!

I know of the Oakland Raiders here in America. I also like to watch college football games. There are a lot of great things about games but there are not always well behaved fans..lol..Especially if there is a long time rivalry between the teams. I am not so crazy about the wrestling but I have grown up watching it because there were some people in my family that were avid fans. I used to actually enjoy it at one point and I can watch it but I'm not waiting anxiously for it to come on. I hope you get to go to a live game the next time you come to America.

Thanks for your lovely comment. Are the Oakland Raiders based in LA? I'm sure my hubby mentioned this name, it seems to ring a bell. He is also the man responsible for me to be more "into" wrestling than I was before I met him, so blame him lol. We used to have the British version on telly during the 1970s but it was more slapstick than anything else, although some of the wrestling moves were more traditional I would say. "The Wrestler" film starring Mickey Rourke is probably one of the best films I have ever seen...it appeals to people who aren't even into wrestling and brings home to us all that it really is a cut-throat business whereby there are more failures than winners in the sport. Awesome!
