| Valerian Root and Caffeine together?  | | | |  Valarian Root is a natural (no side effects or drowsy the next day feelings) muscle relaxer. I take it so I can sleep a little better. I don't take it real often, but some. If I have an evening cup of coffee (which doesn't tend to keep me awake) won't take the valarian root. I'm thinking that taking the stimulus (caffeine) and then taking the relaxer (valarian root) can't be good for the heart. What do you think? Are they safe to take together or not??

You have a very interesting question here so I googled it. The top response being...
http://www.raysahelian.com/valerian.html . It looks like there were no adverse affects. However, this was tried on healthy adults, and I do not think the focus of the study was to try to discover any unhealthy results. Plus, it was not a study regarding long termed use of simultaneously using both substances.
