The Toilet seat up or down  

I don't like it when the toilet seat is up. I just think it is gross! I always have to have it down even when it's clean I don't like to see the inside of the toilet other than that I don't want the cats to drink out of it.

Definitely should be down. Makes the bathroom look neater. Also, like the post above said, I also have cats and don't want them trying to drink from it .

I keep both lids down, and I have a seat covering over the lid. That was nothing can accidently fall int the toilet PLUS pne of my cat likes to sit up there and sometimes even curls up to take a nap.

Well, one of the chief complaints I hear from women about this is that when they go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, if the seat is up, they sit and fall in....
I have a question for you ladies, a few actually. When you walk across the street, do you look for traffic before you cross? When you back up in your car, do you look behind you to see if anyone or anything is there before you start moving? When you put on a shirt, do you look to make sure the front side is facing the right way? When you sit in a chair, do you look to see where it is before you sit?
The toilet seat works both ways ladies...it goes up...and it goes down...try it...really....it works. Now, I am a gentlman and having lived the last near quarter of a century in a house full of women, I do, out of courtesy, ocaisionaly put the seat down....BUT, for cripe sake.....

Sometimes i left it up, sometimes i left it down...

Toilet seat should be always down. Lid is design to be in use. It prevents the air bacteria spreed over the entire washroom. It is also esthetically pleasing....

Hi, gtdonna. I leave mines up after I use the bathroom. If it is a male, then I expect them to put down the second seat. I don't usually put the seat down when I use it. It all depends on how you look at it. I don't put the seat down to close the toilet. I would rather just leave it sitting up so that I won't have to worry about putting my hand on the toilet seat all of the time.

The toilet seat should be closed at all times except of course when using. In fact once you are finished with your business you should put the toilet seat cover down and then flush. If you don't you would have sprayed fecal matter all over the bathroom and on your toothbrush.

I prefer that the seat always be down when not in use. It is less unsightly that way. I also believe it is less potentially germy if put down. And, yes, it is of great benefit to those of us with thirsty animals if the seat is left down.
