Have you used the Ziploc Vacuum Seal System yet? What do you think?  

You may be able to find them at one of your local grocery stores. If not you can find them on the internet. If possible, get one locally. It's a lot cheaper. I've used the sealers that cost $100 or more, but this does the same thing. Plus, it's really low tech so you can break the pump down to clean and sanitize. I hunt, fish, and grow most of my own veg & fruit. I had to go out and buy a freezer chest to put in the garage for the overflow of food I've got. It was the best 14 bucks I've ever spent.

Nope. Not on sale. For around $14 gets you the pump a box of 1 gal resealable bags and a box of 1qt bags. It's inexpensive and you can take it apart and wash it. Definately not cutting edge technology. It gives me the same results as the pricey ones from dept. stores. Best part is if you break it buy a new pump for $4. I throw away a lot less food and haven't had anything get freezer burnt yet. The whole deal is made by Ziploc. You can find everything on the internet, but you'll save a few bucks looking at your grocer or Walmart. They should be with the food storage containers and such. The only draw back is sometimes on a larger piece of meat you'll have to cut it down to fit in the gallon bags. To illustrate I'll tell you that I buy whole chickens on sale and break them down myself. I can fit a whole cut down bird in one bag. Check it out you'll love it. Ziploc should really be paying me.
