How many of us still sit, as a family, at the dining table? I do not have one, but me and my hub, have our dinner outside in the garden. It is nice and quite, and it is the most peacefull time to enjoy our dinner and spend that few precious moments together. Do you allow your kids to watch tv, while having dinner? I know of a lot of families who have dinner in front of the telly, but for some reason it feel so unpersonal. Dinner is not only about the food, it is having that few quality moments and minutes with your family. Or am i wrong?

HI saphrina, You are absolutely right. It is really possible to make the eating time as a special one. In fact, all are getting together at the time of eating so it is a bonding moment too. It is true that at many homes people are eating different times or may be at work place in day times. Only at dinner time everybody can be together, so it will be really nice to sit and eat in one time without watching the TV. Watching TV at the time of eating has its own disadvantages. Everybody will concentrate on TV and we are missing our special bonding moments. In our home, we can only eat together at dinner and we are enjoying the same with our kids.

Good for you. It is nice to get everyone together, even if you only know how everbodys day was. I think it is an important time in all our lives, as we move at such a fast paste in todays life.

Hello saphrina, I agree with you. I have a dining table but since I am living alone, I don't use it when I am eating. I eat in front of my TV or laptop. It's just that when I eat at my table, it reminds me of my family. Back home, we usually sit on the floor eating because there's 7 head in my sister's house including her 3 sons. It is easier eating that way when the kids can't sit still. The importance of a dining table, it binds the family together....

Hi sweetie. Well, watching tv while eating seem so unpersonal, don't you think? I would rather talk to my family while eating. Have a great day.

Hi sweetie, how are you doing? You made me think. Earlier we have our food in front of television. In recent days there is more power problem in our place and we used to have our food without even power and in front of candles. We enjoyed it a lot. Sometimes the problem is no one talk while eating and the discussions are rare. Hope it will change. Take Care
