| | Hello, sath. wireless modem is a wireless connection to access internet. This type of moden often used in coffee shop so that their customers can access the internet via laptop. I'm using wireless modem at hope so that when my mom using our PC i can still access the internet via laptop. I just search for a wireless signal and that's it. A wifi connection instantly. My advice to you when you switch on your modem please set up a password for privacy and so that your neighbors won't access your internet and to avoid slow connection. | | | | | | |

| | Dear sathya264 A wireless indeed has a wire or two but its main use is to convert the normal cable internet into wireless wifi waves! This provides you internet access from any part of your house/ certain regions! This provides fidelity without wires often known as Wireless Fidelity or WiFi as we know it better! I have a normal Airtel Modem but I have got this new Belkin Wireless G Router for WiFi access within my house and it works fine! | | | | | | |

| | Wireless modem indeed has wire. Sound confusing, right? It normally has wires from the power line. Wireless here mainly refers to no wire for the networking part or receiving internet service from the ISP. Some wireless modems also have socket for the telephone line as well as the networking LAN line. The most significant feature of a wireless modem is you will see a round cylindrical antenna behind the modem. This antenna is used to transfer the data through the air instead of the LAN wire used by a normal wire modem. | | | | | | |

| | Hi sathya, Wireless modem means you will get wire from powerline to modem. but there won't be any wire from your modem to laptop. If your pc have wifi you need not connect with wire otherwise you need wire. If you have laptop you can use it anywhere in your home. | | | | | | |

| | hahaha no yaar wireless it means it can connect to the telephone tower thorugh the air. i too have bsnl wireless modem and believe me..if your house is near a telephone tower youll get bombastic speeds. i used to get around 500-550 kbps with my 500 plan the wired one will give u hellishly slow speeds..my friend has wired modem and achieves only a max of 60-90 kbps | | | | | | |
