John Lennon Died In 1980. What Would He Think Of The World Now?  

I couldn't put it better myself, thank you! I much prefer his solo stuff to the Beatles era...but there again I was born in 1966 so couldn't appreciate them. I think John Lennon and George Harrison (who is totally under-rated in my view) were the better singers in the Beatles anyway. I think John Lennon would've approved of Live Aid do you?He wouldn't have stopped there though, I'm sure. He'd make sure all the hunger, suffering, war, Global Warming...everything was still raw in our hearts PERMANENTLY! An Ambassador For The World lol, that's what he would be. Sadly missed.

Well said my friend! I can see him and Yoko on a Greenpeace ship, what a sight that would be. Knowing those two they'd probably physically get in the way of a harpoon, no hiding in a dinghy for them! The sad thing is there is no-one like him alive at the moment...and if there were it would all be about publicity for their next album...and that's so sad. It gives you an idea of how shallow the world has become. More bothered about who wins the X-Factor than what is going on around them. If Simon Cowell is such an animal lover why doesn't he promote it on all his shows? Charities such as the RSPCA and WSPA would make a fortune overnight!

I do not know what the X-Factor is and only just recently heard of Simon Cowell for the first time, but do not know much about him. I do not watch much TV!

It is one of my favourite books on The Beatles or John Lennon. I think it gives the reader a great insight into what led him to become the person that he was!

Haha! Those "plastic bands" you mean? No, I don't think he'd like them somehow. You may be right, I do think he'd become cheesed off with politicians but then again, maybe he would've started up his own "Peace Party" or something. I often wonder what my Grandad would've thought about all this technology...the cricket coverage, as an example is a totally different experience and he liked cricket and he'd probably like the way it's all "close-up" now. Not too sure about 20/20 though...bit manic for him! Even I prefer Test Matches so I must take after him, I'm pleased to say!

Haha! That's very true! It's funny that there's supposed to be a gig organised for Haiti via Simon Cowell (promoting himself as usual) but I wonder if John Lennon would've become involved with it...I know he would be 70 this year but - say he came back as he was when he died, 40 years old. I wonder what he'd make of all this X-Factor nonsense. Being a Scouser I reckon he's tell Cowell to "s*d off" if he tried getting him on his show lol.

Haha! Yes, she was a bad influence on him but...to be fair he wasn't very good with women. He'd already been married once before and that turned out to be a disaster. I also believe that the love-in was orchestrated by Yoko, had nothing to do with Mr Lennon, which doesn't surprise me in the least! Still wish he was around though. I'd like him to come back looking like he did in the "Imagine" video, the coolest, most beautiful video I've ever seen. Fab!
